The TV channel "Norddeutscher Rundfunk" (NDR) - public TV for northern Germany is shooting a film about autumn around Burgas and especially about the surrounding lakes. The foreign team filmed a 45' documentary for their show "Hanseblick", in which they travelled to various locations in Northern Germany and Eastern Europe to rediscover them for German viewers.
The team spent 10 days in Burgas and the region at the beginning of October 2023, and one of the days was dedicated to Lake Atanasovsko. They used a drone and camera to photograph birds from the Hide area resting here at the time, as well as the lye and mud pools on the other side. It was especially exciting to meet the only visitor to the lye pool - a Norwegian tourist who accidentally discovered the magic of the pink waters, who was here with his young daughter, who was not too happy about the super salty lye. A representative of the project presented Atanasovsko Lake and the salt extraction that has been going on here for more than 100 years.
"Hanseblick" is for TV viewers between the ages of 35 and 75 who live in Germany and love to travel, so it was important for the team to show the beautiful places from a tourist's point of view, but also give an insight into how local people live.
